Tax Director
We are recruiting for an experienced Tax Director to join a growing professional services team and play a key role in developing its Tax Advisory offering.
This is a senior opportunity for a commercially minded tax professional who enjoys working closely with business owners and senior stakeholders, providing strategic advice and developing long-term client relationships.
The Role
As Tax Director, you will lead the delivery and growth of tax advisory services across a diverse client portfolio.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing high-quality, commercially focused advice on complex UK tax matters.
- Advising business owners, shareholders and senior management on strategic tax planning.
- Supporting clients with areas including business structuring, reorganisations, acquisitions and disposals, succession and exit planning, and shareholder matters.
- Building and maintaining strong, trusted relationships with existing and prospective clients.
- Identifying and converting new business opportunities to support the growth of the Tax Advisory practice.
- Leading pitches, proposals and other business development activities.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across accounting, audit, corporate finance and wider advisory teams.
- Providing technical leadership and ensuring advisory work is accurate, practical and commercially relevant.
- Coaching and developing members of the tax team.
- Contributing to the development of new tax advisory services and market opportunities.
- Maintaining high standards of professional, regulatory and risk compliance.
You will ideally have:
- A relevant professional tax qualification with significant post-qualification experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of UK taxation and experience delivering complex tax advisory work.
- Proven experience acting as a trusted adviser to business owners and senior stakeholders.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to translate business objectives into practical tax solutions.
- A proven track record in business development and winning new advisory work.
- Experience leading, mentoring and developing tax professionals.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex tax matters clearly.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- A proactive, entrepreneurial and commercially focused approach.
- CTA qualification.
- ACA or ACCA qualification.
- Experience working with owner-managed businesses, privately owned groups and/or larger corporate clients.
- An established network of clients, professional advisers or introducers.
