Woodie's is the market\-leading DIY, Home \& Garden retailer in Ireland, with 35 stores nationwide and an online presence. Woodie's is recognised as one of Ireland's top workplaces and is accredited as an Investor in Diversity.

Sustainability is a core part of how Woodie's does business. Our strategy supports Woodie's mission to help customers love where they live by reducing environmental impact, sourcing responsibly, supporting colleagues, contributing to communities and operating ethically. This role helps turn that strategy into practical action across the business.

Role Purpose
----------------

We are seeking a Sustainability Business Partner to join our Support Office team.

This role will coordinate the delivery of Woodie's sustainability strategy across key business functions, with a particular focus on Commercial, Finance, Operations, HR, Group Sustainability and external partners.

The successful candidate will support sustainability reporting, regulatory readiness, supplier engagement, data collection and internal business partnering. This is not a purely technical data analyst role. While strong data discipline remains important, the role requires someone who can translate sustainability requirements into practical actions, coordinate multiple stakeholders, follow through on deadlines and ensure the business is prepared for evolving sustainability reporting and regulatory obligations.

Key Responsibilities
------------------------

1\. Sustainability Business Partnering

  • Act as a day\-to\-day sustainability partner for Commercial, Category, Finance, HR, Operations and other business teams.

  • Coordinate sustainability actions across departments and ensure owners understand requirements, timelines and dependencies.

  • Support the recurring Sustainability x Commercial rhythm, including agenda preparation, action tracking, follow\-up with Category teams and escalation of key risks.

  • Help business teams understand how sustainability impacts product sourcing, packaging, supplier due diligence, community investment, volunteering, energy, waste and reporting.

  • Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, including Group Sustainability, and relevant industry bodies.
2\. Sustainability Reporting and Governance
  • Coordinate quarterly and annual sustainability reporting inputs for Woodie's and Group requirements.

  • Support preparation of ESG scorecards, QBR updates, leadership updates and Group reporting submissions.

  • Track key sustainability KPIs across Scope 1 \& 2 emissions, waste, recycling, timber certification, supplier risk, volunteering, community investment and sustainability dashboard outputs.

  • Support continued development of the Woodie's Sustainability Dashboard and ensure reporting outputs are useful for decision\-making, not only data collection.
3\. Regulatory Readiness and Compliance Coordination
  • Coordinate Woodie's response to evolving sustainability requirements, including PPWR, EUDR, CBAM, CSRD\-related data requirements and supplier due diligence.

  • Translate regulatory requirements into business\-friendly actions, timelines, templates and supplier requests.

  • Support documentation processes for packaging, importer obligations, supplier declarations, product attributes and sustainability evidence.

  • Work with Commercial, Category and supplier\-facing teams to ensure sustainability data is gathered at the right stage of the product lifecycle.

  • Maintain visibility of upcoming deadlines and ensure relevant teams are briefed in advance.
4\. Product, Supplier and Packaging Data Coordination
  • Support sustainability requirements within product listing, ERP / BC24 and supplier data processes.

  • Coordinate sustainability attribute requirements for new product listing, including agreed fields, dropdowns, validation logic and guidance for suppliers.

  • Work with IT, Commercial and Category teams to test sustainability data capture processes and identify data quality issues early.

  • Support supplier requests relating to EUDR, CBAM, packaging, product weights, chemical hazard information, energy labelling and other sustainability fields.

  • Help define and maintain practical data standards that balance compliance, business usability and supplier capability.
5\. Packaging, Repak and Circularity Support
  • Coordinate packaging improvement workstreams, including packaging data collection, Repak\-related reporting, PPWR readiness and packaging optimisation opportunities.

  • Support Commercial teams in identifying opportunities to reduce non\-recyclable packaging and improve packaging standards for own\-brand products.

  • Help develop supplier\-facing packaging guidance and internal documentation.

  • Work with relevant teams to understand future fee implications, data requirements and operational impacts of packaging changes.
6\. Supplier Due Diligence and Ethical Supply Chain
  • Support supplier due diligence activity, including EcoVadis tracking, supplier engagement, corrective action follow\-up and escalation of non\-engagement.

  • Coordinate with Category Managers and Commercial leadership where supplier sustainability risks require follow\-up.

  • Maintain trackers and evidence needed for Group and internal reporting.

  • Help embed due diligence expectations into supplier processes and product listing requirements.
7\. Internal Engagement and Sustainability Awareness
  • Support sustainability communications, training and colleague awareness initiatives.

  • Help develop content for onboarding, sustainability training, colleague updates, committee updates and internal awareness campaigns.

  • Coordinate inputs from HR, Operations and other teams on volunteering, energy awareness, waste segregation and colleague engagement.

  • Translate sustainability topics into practical, accessible messaging for stores and support office colleagues.
8\. Budget, Cost and Commercial Impact Support
  • Support sustainability budget tracking and forecasting where required.

  • Help collate and summarise sustainability\-related costs, including CBAM, Repak, due diligence costs and other regulatory cost pressures.

  • Work with Finance and Commercial teams to understand product, supplier and margin implications of sustainability costs.

  • Support leadership updates on sustainability cost exposure and mitigation options.
Key Deliverables
--------------------
  • Accurate quarterly sustainability reporting and Group submissions.

  • Clear sustainability updates for leadershipand colleague forums.

  • Good analytical skills and comfort working with data, trackers, dashboards and reporting packs.

  • Strong attention to detail, especially where information is used for compliance, reporting or supplier follow\-up.
