Are you ready to make a real difference in the lives of young people with learning disabilities and additional needs?
We’re looking for warm, adaptable, and enthusiastic individuals to join our Herefordshire team, supporting a range of services including respite and holiday stays, domiciliary care, and community\-based children’s groups. Whether you're already experienced in care or looking for a meaningful new career, this could be the role for you.
Each shift brings something different, new activities, new environments, and new opportunities to build trust, confidence, and joy in a young person’s day. You might be baking, creating crafts, heading out on an adventure, or supporting someone through their nighttime routine. With the right mindset and full training, you’ll be supported to thrive.
What the role involves:
- Providing individualised support, including personal care and medication where needed
- Supporting young people in line with their personal routines and preferences
- Working closely with parents to ensure continuity of care
- Encouraging young people to engage in activities they enjoy
- Recording detailed notes using our digital care app
- Communicating effectively with colleagues and adapting to changing needs
- You enjoy variety \- no two days are the same
- You’re flexible and happy to work unsocial hours (including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays)
- You’re patient, creative, and able to stay calm under pressure
- You want to make a difference, whether you’re starting out or continuing a career in LD care
- You’re not afraid of messy play, craft chaos, or impromptu table tennis matches!

- Adaptability to different personalities and behaviours
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a close\-knit team
- Patience and emotional resilience when supporting individuals who may present behaviours that challenge
