Support Worker –Twigs, Quarry Bank.
Job Type: Full\-time, Permanent
Hours: 40 per week
Salary £12\.71 per hour £26,438 per annum.

To patiently support the trainees who attend the day service to engage in Horticulture related activities, helping them to make steady progress on their learning journey.
To work directly hands on with a small group of trainees, understanding their needs and working at their pace, showing patience and understanding.
After training and with experience you will be expected to be able to lead and plan for the group.
To contribute to the positive culture that exists within the Charity and to work with others to deliver high quality services to people with disabilities.
You will be accountable to the Service Manager of Twigs
Occasional Saturday working will be required by rota for which TOIL will be given. \* *a review of opening hours is currently being undertaken commencing April 2026\.*
Day\-to\-Day Responsibilities
1\. To be personally responsible for your own attitude and approach towards the trainees, staff and others when in the service. We expect a “can\-do” attitude to resolve issues quickly and efficiently, in this enjoyable project.
2\. You will work alongside other trained staff to work independently with trainees and volunteers.
3\. You will be responsible for the welfare of the trainees to ensure the highest quality of support is provided, in line with our Policies. We support people with moderate levels of need and do not provide personal care.
4\. You will need to communicate appropriately with people, such as managers, other agencies, families and members of the public who may access the provision ie: the onsite shop.
5\. Health \& Safety regulations must be adhered to, and risk assessments are regularly carried out and reviewed by the manager.
6\. You will complete mandatory training and additional training in line with your role.
7\. You will use basic IT platforms to request leave and to communicate with others.
8\. To be prepared to drive company vehicles, to meet the needs of the project.

Person Specification
To demonstrate a good level of both written and spoken English.
Relevant experience of working with people with disabilities in either a care or an educational setting.
To demonstrate a sound knowledge and interest in horticulture, or experience in gardening.
To be honest \& reliable.
To have the ability to prioritise tasks
To be able to demonstrate resilience.
Driving Licence (required).
