Support worker full time

Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Support Workers to provide high\-quality care to individuals in home care settings. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting patients with diverse needs, including young adults with learning difficulties and elderly individuals within the community. This paid position offers an opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable adults by delivering personalised care with professionalism and empathy. Experience in supporting people with a learning difficulty is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Deliver personalised patient care, including assistance with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility support


• Assist with medication administration following prescribed protocols


• Support individuals with a learning difficulty through behaviour management and specialised care techniques


• Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements


• Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance wellbeing


• Assist with light household tasks and ensure a safe environment


• Drive or accompany clients to appointments or community outings, or day centres as required


• Maintain accurate records of care provided and report any concerns to supervising staff


• Respond promptly to emergencies by applying first aid procedures when necessary


• Support clients with activities of daily living in their home

Qualifications

• Previous experience in supported living or home care environments preferred


• Knowledge of learning difficulties and behaviour management techniques is advantageous


• Certification in first aid is desirable but not essential; training can be provided


• A valid driving licence is preferred for transportation duties (not essential)


• Strong communication skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients of all ages


• Compassionate attitude with a genuine desire to support vulnerable individuals


• Flexibility to work various shifts, including days, evenings, or weekends as needed
