We are offering an exciting development opportunity to join OWC’s Subsea Cables team, contributing to engineering and consultancy work across a wide range of offshore wind farm projects. In this role, you will support the delivery of analysis and technical advice on cable routing, as well as cable system transport and installation. To prepare you for this, we will teach you the fundamentals of cable routing, installation methodologies, and much more.

Over time, you will develop the capability to:

  • Carry out cable route engineering and planning, landfall appraisal studies, and cable burial risk assessments.

  • Analyse cable\-related issues, including scour assessments and investigations into cable failures.

  • Build an understanding of cable route survey management, cable installation processes, and burial and protection studies.

  • Conduct and oversee engineering reviews for Marine Warranty cable projects and contribute to cable package management activities.

  • Support the preparation of tenders and proposals and assist in delivering marketing presentations to prospective clients.
What are we looking for?

Ideally, you will have an academic background in Naval Architecture, Electrical, Marine or Mechanical Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related discipline. You will also bring:

  • Knowledge of the energy industry and some exposure to engineering consultancy.

  • An understanding of the development, construction, and operational phases of renewable energy projects.

  • The ability to build strong client relationships and work independently to meet project deadlines.

  • Strong report\-writing skills.

  • Fluency in English; additional languages are an advantage.
