Student Recruitment \& Admissions Officer

About the Role

We are looking for a confident, enthusiastic and highly organised Student Recruitment \& Admissions Officer to join our growing higher education team.

This is a varied role combining student recruitment, admissions, administration, customer service and digital support. You'll be the first point of contact for prospective students, guiding them through the application process while delivering an outstanding customer experience.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys speaking with people, learns quickly, embraces technology and thrives in a fast\-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Speak with prospective students via telephone, WhatsApp, email and face\-to\-face.

  • Guide applicants through the admissions and enrolment process.

  • Follow up enquiries and maintain regular communication with prospective students.

  • Manage student records accurately using CRM systems and internal databases.

  • Book appointments and organise recruitment events.

  • Prepare and process administrative documents.

  • Respond professionally to enquiries and resolve issues efficiently.

  • Assist with student onboarding and ongoing student support.

  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with internal procedures.

  • Support social media activity and digital engagement.

  • Work closely with the wider team to improve student recruitment and engagement.
Essential Skills \& Experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Confident speaking with customers both in person and over the phone.

  • Previous experience in customer service, sales, recruitment, hospitality or another customer\-facing role.

  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload.

  • Fast learner with a proactive attitude.

  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a team.

  • Professional, friendly and approachable manner.
Technology Requirements

Applicants should be comfortable using modern technology, including:

  • CRM systems.

  • Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).

  • Google Workspace (Gmail, Google Drive, Docs, Sheets and Calendar).

  • AI tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot or similar.

  • Social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok and LinkedIn.

  • Basic photo and video creation using a smartphone.

  • Video conferencing platforms such as Microsoft Teams or Zoom.

  • Cloud storage systems such as Google Drive or OneDrive.

  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new software and digital tools.
Desirable Experience
  • Experience within education or higher education.

  • Experience in admissions or student recruitment.

  • Knowledge of student finance or the UK higher education sector.

  • Experience using marketing or email automation platforms.

Competitive salary, dependent on experience.

Working Hours

Current Hours

  • Monday to Thursday

  • 8:30 am to 3:00 pm

  • Four days per week
Future Opportunity

As our organisation continues to grow and expand into new education centres, there may be opportunities for this role to become a full\-time position, working:

  • Monday to Friday

  • 8:30 am to 5:00 pm
We are looking for someone who is flexible and excited to grow with the organisation as new opportunities become available.

Flexible Working

This is primarily an office\-based role. However, occasional home working may be available where appropriate.
