Overview
Wills Bros Ltd are delivering the West Apron Vehicle Underpass Project at Dublin Airport a landmark infrastructure scheme providing direct connectivity between the East and West Aprons via a cut\-and\-cover underpass beneath active taxiways and runway infrastructure.
We are seeking an experienced Structures Agent (Piling/ Reinforced Concrete Engineering / Heavy Civils) to join the project team as part of a Joint Venture delivery model, taking ownership of key elements of this complex, safety\-critical aviation project.
This role is ideally suited to a Site Agent, Senior Section Engineer, Structures Agent or Bridge Engineer with experience in structures, reinforced concrete, heavy civils, piling, tunnelling, or large infrastructure works.
You will play a critical role in delivering high\-quality civil engineering works in a live operational airport environment, ensuring minimal disruption to airfield operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and deliver underpass / tunnel works, including piling, precast installation and reinforced concrete structures
- Oversee daily site operations within a live airfield environment, ensuring compliance with strict DAA safety and operational requirements
- Lead and coordinate site engineers, section engineers, foremen, subcontractors, and JV partners
- Support the Project Manager in programme planning, sequencing, and interface management with live airport operations
- Deliver works beneath and adjacent to active taxiways and runway infrastructure, ensuring safe phasing and coordination
- Prepare and manage programmes, RAMS, method statements, temporary works, and ITPs
- Lead daily briefings / coordination meetings, aligned to airside access constraints
- Monitor progress, productivity, quality, and commercial performance of assigned packages
- Identify and resolve technical, design, and constructability challenges on complex structures and tunnelling works
- Coordinate with DAA, design teams, and key stakeholders
- Support procurement, planning, logistics, and reporting activities
- Promote and drive a strong Health, Safety, Security \& Environmental culture
- Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline
- 5–7 years’ experience as a Site Agent, Structures Agent, Senior Section Engineer, or Bridge Engineer
- Heavy civils / infrastructure projects
- Structures / reinforced concrete works
- Tunnelling, or underpass construction (highly desirable)
- Experience working in live operational environments (airport, rail, utilities or similar)
- Background with a main contractor or civil engineering subcontractor
- Strong knowledge of Irish Health, Safety \& Environmental regulations
- Experience working under strict safety, security, and operational constraints
- Proficient in Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint, MS Project
- Strong leadership experience managing site teams and subcontractors
- Ability to challenge designs, solve problems, and deliver in complex environments
- Full clean EU driving licence
- Meet all regulatory security requirements, including clearance by national aviation authorities and An Garda Síochána to obtain and maintain airside security clearance and an Airport ID pass.
- Experience on airport / aviation projects
- Background as a Structures Agent, Bridge Engineer, Section Engineer, or Package Manager
- Experience in piling, tunnelling, RC structures, or underpass construction
- Experience working adjacent to live taxiways, runways, or high\-risk interfaces
- Knowledge of NEC Contracts
- Experience in temporary works, drainage, utilities, and infrastructure integration
