An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced structured finance professional to join a leading UK-based financial institution focused on supporting lending to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
- This senior role sits within a high-performing Structured Financial Institutions team, responsible for originating, structuring, and executing complex funding solutions for non-bank lenders. The successful candidate will play a key role in shaping product strategy, delivering transactions, and supporting the growth of SME credit markets.
- Own product strategy, including development of new structures and enhancements to existing offerings
- Drive end-to-end transaction execution: modelling, structuring, negotiation, approvals, and closing
- Oversee P&L, pipeline management, and portfolio performance
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, risk, and subsidy control frameworks
- Manage and mentor a team, driving performance and professional development
- Build and maintain senior relationships with lenders, delivery partners, investors, and advisors
- Collaborate across internal functions including Legal, Risk, Policy, Strategy, and Finance
Required Experience • Strong track record in structured finance, including: • Securitisation
- Asset-backed finance or speciality lending
- Capital markets transactions involving credit risk
- Experience executing SME-backed transactions
- Proven ability to lead complex deals from origination through to execution
- Deep understanding of relevant markets, structures, and regulatory frameworks
- Demonstrated experience managing deal teams and junior professionals
- Advanced financial modelling and analytical capabilities
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
- Ability to operate effectively in a collaborative, cross-functional environment
- Excellent organisational and leadership abilities
- Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MSc) preferred but not essential
