Unified Job Description – Civil \& Structural Engineering
(Engineer / Lead Engineer / Senior Engineer)
Role Summary
The Civil \& Structural Engineer will support the analysis, design, and substantiation of reinforced concrete, steel, and civil structures within multidisciplinary engineering environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Structural analysis, design, modelling, and calculations for concrete, steel, and civil works.
- Preparation and review of drawings, reports, specifications, and substantiation documents.
- Assessment of structures under normal, construction, environmental, extreme, and seismic loads.
- Compliance with engineering codes, standards, safety requirements, and assurance processes.
- Collaboration with civil, geotechnical, mechanical, electrical, process, construction, and safety teams.
- Participation in or leadership of design reviews, technical assurance, and resolution of engineering queries.
- Contribution to continuous improvement and mentoring of junior engineers.
Experience Levels
Engineer
- Degree‑qualified; working toward Chartered status.
- Delivers design and analysis under guidance.
- Familiar with structural behaviour and engineering assurance.
- Chartered or equivalent senior experience.
- Leads structural work packages and provides technical direction.
- Coordinates multidisciplinary interfaces and approves technical documentation.
- Chartered with extensive experience in regulated sectors.
- Leads complex structural scopes including seismic, thermal, accidental, and construction load cases.
- Provides high‑level technical oversight, mentoring, and assurance leadership.
- Experience with international or American codes is beneficial but not required.
- Suitable for candidates from infrastructure, energy, marine, nuclear, or other regulated industries.
