School of Medical Sciences Teaching, Learning \& Student Experience team

The School of Medical Sciences is home to a 5\-year Undergraduate Medical Programme (MBChB), 2 Undergraduate Dentistry Programmes, a Physicians Associates Programme, a portfolio of around 27 PGT programmes, and international activity across many of these programmes.

In the Teaching, Learning \& Student Experience team, we play a central role in supporting the delivery of highquality education across a wide variety of taught programmes. We work collaboratively with academic colleagues, NHS partners and other, central Professional Services teams to lead and support a wide range of teaching and learning activities, including curriculum delivery, assessment, placement management and student support, underpinned by complex digital systems and datadriven approaches.

This Role

In this senior role, you will leadhighimpact digital and service improvement initiatives for two key programmes of study within the School, providing strategic direction, robust governance and constructive challenge. You will work closely with academic colleagues, NHS partners, Professional Services teams and IT Services, influencing decisionmaking and ensuring that our digital services are reliable, compliant and futurefocused.

Alongside this strategic leadership, you will provide oversight of the daytoday delivery of the current 1Med applications. You will guide a small team of technical and administrative colleagues to ensure BAU services run smoothly, ongoing enhancements are delivered effectively, and risks, issues and dependencies are wellmanaged.

This is a unique and varied position where no two days are the same balancing strategic digital transformation with operational oversight of critical Teaching \& Learning systems.

Essential Skills:

You will:

  • Have a proven track record of delivering complex digital or ITenabled projects in a large organisation, ideally in Higher Education

  • Be highly skilled at building relationships, influencing senior decisionmakers and navigating complex governance structures

  • Bring strong experience in usercentred design, requirements gathering and crossfunctional service improvement

  • Translate confidently between technical specialists and nontechnical stakeholders

  • Have excellent problemsolving, analytical and communication skills

  • Enjoy leading, motivating and supporting teams through periods of change

  • Be comfortable working independently, managing ambiguity and prioritising effectively
