ROLE: Stores Manager
HOURS: 37\.5 hours a week
LOCATION: MOD Corsham

We're looking for a Stores Manager who will be responsible for the end‑to‑end management of the technical stores, ensuring the timely procurement, accurate storage, and controlled distribution of engineering spares and materials. This role supports onsite engineers by maintaining optimal stock levels, sourcing quality technical components, and ensuring all inventory movements are properly recorded and accounted for.
The role also carries full responsibility for the receipt, issue, accounting, and compliance of MOD stores, including the use of authorised military logistics systems such as MJDI, and adherence to JSP 888\.
Role Responsibilities:

- Source, evaluate, and purchase technical spares, tools, and materials required by onsite engineers.
- Monitor stock levels of company uniforms and manage the procurement, ordering, and replenishment of all uniform items.
- Oversee the day‑to‑day operation of the technical stores, ensuring a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Maintain accurate inventory records, including receipts, issues, returns, and stock adjustments.
- Ensure full compliance with JSP 888 (formerly the Defence Logistics Framework), including all relevant policy chapters relating to stock control, materiel accounting, and audit readiness.
- Liaise with MOD representatives, auditors, and internal stakeholders to ensure transparency and compliance.
- Maintain accurate documentation for audit and compliance purposes.
- Provide clear leadership, guidance, and support to ensure staff can perform effectively and escalate issues appropriately.
- Manage HR responsibilities including sickness and absence management, adherence to policies, and completion of PDRs.

- Proven experience in procurement, stores management, or supply chain roles — ideally in a technical, engineering, defence, or industrial environment.
- Strong understanding of technical spares, tools, and engineering materials.
- Knowledge of health and safety standards related to storage and materials handling.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (specifically Excel) and experience with inventory management systems.
- Full, clean UK driving licence (Category B), able to operate vehicles up to Luton‑van size.
