Storekeeper
- Pay Rate: £13.31 per hour (PAYE)
- Location: Manchester City Council
- Job Type: Full-time, Temporary (3 - 6 months)
Day-to-day of the role:
- Support all operational aspects of the Community Equipment Warehouse, including storage, decontamination, recycling, and deliveries.
- Maintain accurate records of assets within the warehouse, monitor stock levels, and replenish stock through appropriate channels as necessary.
- Effectively decontaminate and recycle returned equipment.
- Provide frontline support to the transport contractor, including the loading and unloading of transport vehicles.
- Maintain a safe, tidy working environment, ensuring that items are stored and labeled as per the manufacturer's instructions and that Health & Safety legislation is complied with.
- Provide a high-quality customer-focused service that responds positively and effectively to all customers.
- Ensure deadlines and targets set for the service are met.
- Demonstrate a personal commitment to continuous self-development and service improvement.
- Promote diversity and ensure it is positively valued, resulting in equal access and treatment in employment, service delivery, and communications.
- Must be physically fit and healthy, as the role requires lifting heavy items and being on your feet most of the day.
- Experience in warehousing or a similar role is preferred.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to maintain detailed and accurate records.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Commitment to health and safety standards and procedures.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
