As Store Manager, you will take full ownership of our Manchester location, creating a high\-performing, engaged team and delivering an exceptional consumer experience that reflects Berghaus’ performance heritage and modern relevance.
You’ll balance commercial delivery, people leadership, and brand storytelling—ensuring every customer interaction is meaningful, informed, and inspiring.
What you’ll be doing:
Leadership \& Team Building
- Recruit, develop and lead a team of passionate Brand Ambassadors
- Create a culture of accountability, inclusivity, and high performance
- Coach and develop individuals to reach their full potential
- Own store KPIs including sales, conversion, ATV and profitability
- Analyse trading performance and take proactive action to drive results
- Ensure strong execution of visual merchandising and product launches
- Deliver a best\-in\-class retail experience rooted in product expertise
- Lead from the front—setting the standard for service and storytelling
- Ensure the team confidently communicates technical product benefits
- Position the store as a hub for the local outdoor community
- Build relationships with local groups, universities, and partners
- Drive events and activations that bring the Berghaus brand to life
- Oversee all store operations including stock, compliance, and processes
- Ensure a safe, efficient, and well\-organised retail environment
- Proven retail leadership experience (Store Manager or strong Assistant Manager ready to step up)
- Track record of delivering commercial results through people
- Passion for the outdoors and/or performance\-led products
- Strong sense of ownership and accountability
- Resilient, adaptable, and solutions\-focused
- Ability to inspire, coach, and develop high\-performing teams
- Commercially astute with strong analytical thinking
- Excellent communication and storytelling ability

The Interview Process

- Talent Team Intro Call \- A 30\-minute video call with our Talent Team to get to know each other, talk through the role and your experience, and answer any questions you have.
- Experience Interview \- A more in\-depth interview (usually online) with the hiring manager to explore your skills, experience and approach, and how these align with the role, our principles, and our ways of working.
- Final Interview \- A final in\-person interview at our office, focused on deeper discussion and practical application, giving you the chance to meet more of the team and see Pentland Brands in action.
