Kidzcare Ltd is a well\-established and Employee\-Owned childcare organisation operating a wide variety of childcare facilities within the City of Edinburgh. The care of the children we look after, and the ethos of our company are based on our four key values: Safety, Service, Development and Fairness.

Based in the Marchmont area of Edinburgh, we are looking for a candidate who is able to work 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday, from 7:30 am to 1:30 pm. This is a fully office\-based role, and applicants must be able to reliably commute to the office during these hours.

We are looking to recruit an organised, friendly, and proactive individual looking to make a meaningful impact in a dynamic environment.

The duties for this important role are varied, requiring a confident individual with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to coordinate daily/weekly staffing. They must have the capability to work both solely and as a team player, in cooperation with our HR and Operations departments.

In your role, you will need excellent organisational skills and be able to communicate clearly and professionally with both customers and our teams.

A positive and friendly attitude is essential, showing initiative, flexibility and creative thinking, as you will regularly liaise with employees and must be committed to providing staff with an enhanced level of customer service.

The successful candidate will have previous experience in providing efficient administrative support in addition to strong IT skills, including Word, Excel and Outlook as essentials.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinating staffing within all Kidzcare centres and arranging cover for absences.

  • Planning and arranging shifts with staff (liaising daily/weekly).

  • Attendance management (calls and data).

  • Recruitment: supporting with interviews.

  • New employee registration and paperwork in compliance with Care Inspectorate Safer Recruitment and Kidzcare policy.

  • Prepare employee offer letter and contracts.

  • Keep staff files up to date.

  • Answering phone calls and professionally responding to emails.

  • Handling confidential information with discretion.

  • Supporting the team with administrative tasks.

  • General office duties, including filing, photocopying, record\-keeping and data cleansing.

  • Minute taking.

This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007\. The successful candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required.
