Sr. C++ Software Engineer - Maps SDKs
<p><strong>Overview</strong></p>
<p>Bring your passion for C++ to help us develop a cross‑platform mapping API for native applications and game engines running on the latest desktop and mobile devices. You will work with the latest compilers and C++ standards and contribute to designing and developing next‑generation Esri technology.</p>
<p>This is an exciting opportunity to advance mapping visualization across our native rendering engine as well as Unity and Unreal Engine game engines. We are passionate about making a difference and leading the way in innovative technology development.</p>
<p><strong>Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Build C++ software components that follow industry-standard design patterns, development methodologies, and deployment models</li>
<li>Develop excellent software for use in field mapping, data collection, sensor networks, street navigation, and more</li>
<li>Collaborate with other programmers and developers throughout the development process</li>
<li>Define user requirements; design and develop applications and APIs for devices</li>
<li>Ensure that ArcGIS software meets real-world usage scenarios</li>
<li>Solve and articulate complex problems with application design, development, and user experiences</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Requirements</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>5+ years of commercial software development experience</li>
<li>Fluent and passionate about modern C++ (11/14/17/20) and associated technologies (STL, Boost, Clang, MSVC)</li>
<li>Object oriented design skills</li>
<li>Understanding of algorithms and design patterns</li>
<li>Ability to work closely with the team to build quality software in a constantly evolving environment</li>
<li>Effective time management and organizational skills</li>
<li>Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, mapping, GIS, or related field</li>
<li>Existing work authorization for Spain</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Recommended Qualifications</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Experience with IDEs, compilers, and development tools for Linux, Windows, macOS , iOS, or Android</li>
<li>Proficiency with OpenGL, DirectX, Vulkan, or Metal</li>
<li>Familiarity with GIS applications and technologies</li>
<li>Experience in implemented client-side support of RESTful web services</li>
<li>Knowledge of Unity and Unreal Engine</li>
<li>Master’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, GIS, or related field</li>
