Looking for more responsibility early in your career?
Olympian Gymnastics is one of Ireland's largest gymnastics organisations, with members across seven venues in Dublin and Kildare.
We're looking for an ambitious, highly organised and proactive person to join our Operations team.
This is a junior role, so we don't expect you to arrive knowing everything.
What matters much more to us is your attitude, attention to detail, initiative, reliability and willingness to learn.
You'll receive ongoing training and support from our management team, while being given increasing responsibility as your skills and experience develop.
For the right person, this could be the beginning of a long\-term career in operations and management with Olympian.
What will you actually be doing?
No two weeks will be exactly the same.
You'll work closely with our General Manager and Operations team, helping to make sure our seven venues are organised, supported and running smoothly.
You'll spend time both with our central team and out in our venues.
Your responsibilities will include:
- helping coordinate day\-to\-day operations across our venues;
- keeping track of actions, deadlines and projects and making sure things get completed;
- supporting staffing and scheduling;
- coordinating equipment, purchasing and suppliers;
- following up on maintenance and facilities issues;
- helping organise camps, events and programme launches;
- keeping operational documents, checklists and trackers up to date;
- communicating with Venue Leads, coaches and our central team;
- visiting venues to identify and help resolve practical problems;
- supporting managers with projects and operational improvements; and
- gradually taking ownership of your own projects and areas of responsibility.
We want someone who enjoys getting things organised, solving problems and getting things done.
You could be a great fit if...
You're organised and have excellent attention to detail
- You notice the small things.
- You keep track of commitments and deadlines and don't like leaving things unfinished.
- If someone gives you responsibility for something, they can trust that you'll follow it through.
- You don't need instructions for every small decision.
- If you spot a problem, you'll think about what could be causing it and what we could do about it.
- You'll ask for help when you need it – but your first instinct is to think and act rather than wait.
- Operations is a team sport.
- You'll work with coaches, Venue Leads, customer service, membership, marketing and management.
- We're looking for someone who is positive, helpful and willing to support the wider team when things get busy.
- If you say you're going to do something, you do it.
- People can depend on you, and you take responsibility for the quality of your work.
- You don't need to know how to run seven gymnastics venues on day one.
- We'll teach you.
- You'll receive ongoing training, coaching and support, and we'll gradually expose you to areas including venue operations, staffing, scheduling, membership, customer experience, commercial performance and people management.
- What we want from you is curiosity, effort and the ability to learn quickly.
- Things don't always go exactly to plan in a busy organisation.
- A coach may be unavailable. Equipment might need replacing. A timetable may need changing. A venue might have an operational issue.
- You'll be someone who stays calm, gets the right people involved and helps find a solution.
We're deliberately keeping this broad.
You might currently work in:
- operations or administration;
- sport or leisure;
- fitness or health clubs;
- children's activities;
- hospitality;
- retail;
- events;
- education; or
- another busy customer\-facing organisation.
Experience within sport or gymnastics would be a big advantage, whether through work, coaching, volunteering or your own participation.
Essential
You must:
- have a full, clean driving licence;
- be comfortable travelling regularly between our venues;
- have strong spoken and written English;
- be comfortable using everyday technology, spreadsheets and online systems;
- be organised and able to manage several priorities at once; and
- have the flexibility to work some evenings and weekends when required by the operation.
We don't want you to remain an Operations Assistant forever.
You'll receive:
- ongoing training and support;
- regular coaching and feedback;
- exposure to different parts of the business;
- opportunities to work directly with senior management;
- responsibility for real projects rather than just administrative tasks;
- increasing responsibility as you demonstrate your capability; and
- the opportunity to progress within a growing organisation.
You'll be joining an organisation with more than seven venues, with plans to continue growing.
That means you'll get exposure to a scale and variety of operations that can take years to experience elsewhere.
You'll work with a young, energetic team in an environment centred around sport, children and families.
And because we're growing, there is plenty still to build and improve.
This role would particularly suit someone who thinks:
"Give me the opportunity, teach me, trust me with responsibility – and I'll show you what I can do."
If that sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.
