This rewarding role will involve providing tailored 1:1 support for pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), alongside delivering targeted interventions to support pupils' academic, social, and communication development.
The Role
As a SEND Teaching Assistant, you will provide dedicated support to pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them access learning, develop independence, and achieve their individual targets.
Morning Responsibilities Sessions 1 & 2
- Provide 1:1 support for a Year 6 pupil with an EHCP.
- Support language development and learning needs associated with dyslexia.
- Adapt learning activities and resources to maximise engagement and progress.
- Support a Year 3 pupil with an EHCP and a range of additional needs, including ADHD, Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Noonan syndrome, speech and language difficulties, and dyspraxia.
- Implement personalised strategies to support learning, communication, and emotional regulation.
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff to inform future planning and support.
The school is looking for an experienced SEND Teaching Assistant who can:
- Build positive and supportive relationships with pupils while maintaining clear boundaries.
- Adapt learning activities and resources to meet individual needs.
- Promote engagement, confidence, independence, and emotional wellbeing.
- Work effectively alongside class teachers, the SENDCo, and external professionals.
- Use strong behaviour management strategies to support pupils with complex needs.
- Work confidently and independently on a 1:1 basis.
