Job Overview

We are seeking a SolidWorks Design Engineer to support our engineering team on a 3\-month fixed\-term contract. Working within the aseptic containment and isolator sector, you will help develop a library of standardised parts, assemblies, and design assets to improve efficiency and consistency across future projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain high\-quality 3D SolidWorks part and assembly models.

  • Convert existing AutoCAD drawings into SolidWorks models.

  • Produce sheet metal, bend, weldment, and assembly drawings where required.

  • Generate NEST files for CNC router processing (via RADAN or similar).

  • Develop and organise standardised component libraries, templates, and design documentation.

  • Ensure designs comply with company standards and best practice.

  • Collaborate with the design team to prioritise and develop key components.

  • Support the management of the SolidWorks database and PDM environment.

Requirements
  • Proven SolidWorks experience in a mechanical design environment.

  • Ability to work from technical drawings and AutoCAD files.

  • Experience creating NEST files and working with manufacturing drawings.

  • Strong part and assembly modelling skills.

  • Knowledge of sheet metal design, fabrication, bending, and weldments.

  • Experience developing component libraries and design templates.

  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable
  • Experience with PDM/PLM systems.

  • Background in pharmaceutical, cleanroom, process equipment, machinery, or other regulated industries.

  • Knowledge of aseptic processing, containment systems, isolators, or cleanroom equipment.
