Solaris Engineer – Senior UNIX Specialist

Remote | SC Clearance (essential) | 24/7 Environment

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Solaris Engineer with Security Clearance to support mission-critical infrastructure across production, DR, and development environments.

You will provide 3rd Line support for Solaris platforms, ensuring stability, performance, and resilience across a complex UNIX/Linux estate, while contributing to ongoing infrastructure and cloud-aligned initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver 3rd Line support for Solaris UNIX systems

  • Manage Solaris environments (patching, upgrades, performance tuning)

  • Support virtualisation (Zones / LDOMs)

  • Troubleshoot across Solaris, AIX, RHEL, SUSE

  • Develop shell scripting automation (Bash/KSH)

  • Support 24/7 production environments and DR readiness

Essential Skills
  • Strong experience in Solaris UNIX (core requirement)

  • Proven 3rd Line / senior support background

  • Knowledge of Solaris virtualisation

  • Experience across UNIX/Linux platforms

  • Strong scripting and troubleshooting capability

  • SC clearance eligibility
