<h3><strong>What will I be doing?</strong></h3>
<ul>
<li><strong>People Leadership & Growth:</strong> Look after up to 2 cross-functional teams of engineers (up to 10 direct reports), nurturing engineering talent, encouraging personal development, and managing performance to ensure alignment with delivery objectives.</li>
<li><strong>AI-Informed Team Development:</strong> Actively develop your teams’ AI capabilities — identifying skill gaps, sponsoring learning, and embedding AI-assisted practices into day-to-day engineering. You’ll be the bridge between Kaluza’s AI ambitions and your teams’ day-to-day reality.</li>
<li><strong>Client Engagement & Value Delivery: </strong>Work closely with major partners like ENGIE, alongside product managers and client success teams, to translate complex client requirements into technical reality and ensure high-value delivery.</li>
<li><strong>Technical Guidance: </strong>Leverage your technical background to contribute to architecture and implementation discussions, ensuring systems are robust, scalable, and resilient — and that AI tooling is thoughtfully integrated where it adds genuine value.</li>
<li><strong>Strategic Roadmap Execution: </strong>Drive the technical roadmap and strategy for your domain, steering both the technical and product vision to ensure your team’s products are highly successful.</li>
<li><strong>Operational Excellence: </strong>Champion ways of working across your teams, eliminating engineering blockers, optimising delivery, and ensuring AI adoption translates into measurable productivity and quality improvements.</li>

<h3><strong>About You</strong></h3>
<h4><strong>Ideally you'll have/be:</strong></h4>
<ul>
<li><strong>Engineering Management Experience: </strong>Proven experience in an Engineering Management or related leadership role guiding high-performing, cross-functional engineering teams.</li>
<li><strong>AI Leadership: </strong>Experience leading teams through AI adoption, whether introducing LLM-powered tooling, AI-assisted workflows, or a broader cultural shift toward AI-informed engineering. You know how to move a team from curious to capable.</li>
<li><strong>Client-Facing & Relationship Mastery:</strong> Strong track record of developing and maintaining positive client relationships, actively listening to needs, providing transparent communication, and managing stakeholder expectations.</li>
<li><strong>Modern Technical Architecture: </strong>An excellent understanding of distributed architectures and event-based systems (e.g., Kafka), with enough hands-on background to guide senior engineers confidently.</li>
<li><strong>Agile Frameworks:</strong> A fundamental and practical understanding of Agile and Lean software development practices.</li>
<li><strong>Communication & Collaboration: </strong>Superb communication and interpersonal skills, with experience collaborating closely with senior leaders, product managers, and external technical teams.</li>
</ul>
<h4><strong>What will set you apart:</strong></h4>
<ul>
<li><strong>LLM Integration at Team Scale: </strong>Hands-on familiarity with LLM APIs and agentic workflow patterns, with experience helping engineering teams move beyond personal experimentation into shared, production-ready AI practices.</li>
<li><strong>Knowledge Amplifier: </strong>Experience acting as a connector between teams — ensuring AI learnings, patterns, and wins don’t stay siloed but spread across an engineering organisation.</li>
<li><strong>Domain Expertise: </strong>Background in enterprise billing, finance and ledger tooling, payments systems integration, or ecommerce.</li>
<li><strong>Client-Delivery:</strong> Experience on consulting, SaaS onboarding, or client-delivery technical programmes where engineering quality directly impacts client relationships.</li>
