About the team
Mastercard’s Software Engineering teams design, build, and optimize high\-performing, highly scalable software solutions and products for some of the world's top brands. Using advanced cloud platforms, AI frameworks, and secure blockchain technologies, your work will transcend borders, connecting communities and transforming commerce.
What you’ll do
As a Software Engineering Intern, you’ll build foundational engineering skills, contribute to real\-world projects, and gain experience working on technology used at a global scale. You’ll collaborate with experienced engineers, contribute to meaningful projects, and gain hands on experience building scalable, secure, and reliable technology. You may:
- Be a part of a real engineering team contributing to live systems and products.
- Contribute to building scalable, high\-performance systems used globally
- Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code using modern programming languages
- Support design, development, and testing of software features
- Write basic automated tests to verify code behavior
- Learn and apply secure coding practices
- Participate in code reviews, team discussions, and agile ceremonies
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to deliver solutions
- Troubleshoot issues, debug code, and support enhancements
- Gain exposure to how enterprise software systems are built and maintained
What we’re looking for
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field graduating in summer 2028
- Full time availability for a 6 month internship starting in February 2027
- Basic understanding of programming languages such as Java, Python, C\+\+, JavaScript, or similar
- Strong foundation in data structures, algorithms, and core computer science concepts
- Familiarity with version control (e.g., Git)
- Interest in software testing, debugging, and problem solving
- Curiosity, motivation, and a willingness to learn
