<p>As an FCA-regulated firm, Elwood Technologies provides institutional investors with a seamless, end-to-end digital asset trading, execution, and risk management infrastructure connected to global markets via a single API. To support the continued growth of this platform, we are now seeking a mid level Software Engineer to join our Back End team.</p>
<p><strong>Job Description</strong></p>
<p>As a key role within the engineering team you will be responsible for the design, implementation and testing of the backend components and contribute to the development and functionality requirements of the Data Platform whilst working closely with all other teams across Elwood.</p>
<p><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>Develop and enhance our trading platform adding new features and capacities</li>
<li>Working as a member of the Elwood Engineering team to ensure consistency across the instances and broader client build road map</li>
<li>Implementing and optimising execution and algorithmic trading strategies</li>
<li>Building new services to meet critical product and business needs using Golang</li>
<li>Building features that help customers collaborate on asset management</li>
<li>Working with engineers, designers, product managers and senior leadership to turn our product and technical vision into a tangible roadmap every quarter</li>
<li>Monitoring and support of all production system components (trading algorithms, exchange connectivity, analytics, market data)</li>
<li>Enhancing our platform for low latency/high frequency trading</li>
<li>Maintaining a strong foundation of testing to avoid regressions.</li>
</ul>
<p><strong>Qualifications / Knowledges</strong></p>
<ul>
<li>3+ years of experience in a similar backend engineering role.</li>
<li>Golang experience or proficiency in other structured, strongly-typed languages (C#, C++, or Java).</li>
<li>Excellent object-oriented or functional analysis and design skills.</li>
<li>Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and designing code for high performance.</li>
<li>Degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Strong experience developing large-scale concurrent, event-driven distributed systems.</li>
<li>Experience building systems in event-driven or streaming architectures using modern messaging technologies (such as NATS or Aeron).</li>
<li>Experience with PostgreSQL or other relational databases.</li>
<li>Public cloud experience (GCP/AWS), including Serverless Architecture (Cloud Functions/App Engine) and BigQuery.</li>
<li>Strong understanding of deployment technologies, CI/CD pipelines, code versioning, and issue management tools.</li>
<li>Familiarity with POSIX-oriented environments.</li>
</ul>
<ul>
<li>Knowledge working with data processing and financial market data.</li>
<li>Understanding of order pricing, smart order routing, and execution algorithms (e.g., VWAP, TWAP, POV).</li>
<li>Experience building systems around Transaction Cost Analysis (TCA).</li>
<li>Hands-on experience with the FIX protocol (Financial Information eXchange).</li>
<li><em>Desirable:</em> Direct experience developing and supporting trading systems.</li>
<li><em>Desirable:</em> Solid understanding of financial markets, crypto markets, and digital asset products.</li>
</ul>

<li>Experience effectively using AI assistants (e.g., Claude) to augment your capabilities and enhance your role as a developer.</li>
<li>Strong communication skills and team collaboration.</li>
