The AWS Shield team is seeking a driven and talented Software Development Engineer to join our Distributed Denial of Service response team. In this pivotal role, you'll get to work on the front line of incident response, designing and building systems which keep AWS infrastructure and customer workloads safe from even the largest DDoS threats.

Key job responsibilities

We are looking for a software engineer who is technically strong with deep knowledge in cloud services, distributed systems and web services. The ideal candidate takes pride in tackling challenges, excels at working in an agile environment and is excited about delivering a world\-class AI\-driven analysis platform to detect, diagnose and mitigate large scale DDoS events. You'll collaborate with our exceptional Software and Security Engineers, fostering an environment of innovation and cross\-functional synergy. You’ll enjoy working in a team where you’ll have the autonomy to make an impact. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
------------------------

  • Experience (non\-internship) in professional software development

  • Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems

  • Experience programming with at least one software programming language
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
----------------------------
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent

  • Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
