<p style="text-align: justify;">Our client based in Coventry is seeking an experienced Social Worker to join their Mental Health Team. This is an excellent opportunity for a dedicated practitioner to support adults experiencing mental health difficulties, delivering strengths-based and person-centred interventions that promote independence, wellbeing, and positive outcomes.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">The successful candidate will work within an integrated mental health service alongside health professionals, community services, carers, families, and partner organisations. You will undertake Care Act assessments, safeguarding work, Mental Capacity Assessments, and support planning, whilst helping individuals access appropriate services and community resources. The role requires a proactive practitioner who can manage a varied caseload, work collaboratively with multidisciplinary partners, and support adults to make informed choices whilst maximising their independence and recovery.</p>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Key Responsibilities</strong></p>
<p style="text-align: justify;">Core duties include:</p>
<ul style="text-align: justify;">
<li>Undertaking Care Act 2014 assessments and developing person-centred support plans that promote independence, wellbeing, and recovery.</li>
<li>Managing a caseload of adults with mental health needs, ensuring timely and effective social work interventions are delivered.</li>
<li>Completing carers assessments in accordance with the Care Act 2014 and supporting carers to access appropriate services and support.</li>
<li>Undertaking reviews of care and support arrangements, including reviews relating to Section 117 aftercare responsibilities.</li>
<li>Leading safeguarding enquiries and responding to safeguarding concerns in accordance with Section 42 of the Care Act 2014.</li>
<li>Completing Mental Capacity Assessments and facilitating Best Interest decision-making processes where required.</li>
<li>Supporting legal processes, including Court of Protection applications and associated documentation where necessary.</li>
<li>Working collaboratively with health services, community organisations, voluntary sector providers, families, and support networks to achieve positive outcomes.</li>
<li>Promoting positive risk-taking, informed decision-making, and strengths-based approaches to support independence and recovery.</li>
<li>Contributing a social care perspective within multidisciplinary meetings, assessments, and support planning discussions.</li>
<li>Maintaining accurate, timely, and legally compliant case records, assessments, reports, and support plans.</li>
<li>Participating in professional development activities, supervision, training, and service improvement initiatives.</li>
</ul>
<p style="text-align: justify;"><strong>Qualifications &amp; Experience</strong></p>
<ul style="text-align: justify;">
<li>Professional Qualification: MA, BA, BSc in Social Work, Diploma in Social Work, CQSW, CSS, or equivalent recognised Social Work qualification.</li>
<li>Registration: Must be registered with Social Work England.</li>
<li>Experience: Significant experience working with adults experiencing mental health difficulties.</li>
<li>Legislation Knowledge: Strong understanding of the Mental Health Act 1983, Mental Capacity Act 2005, Care Act 2014, and Adult Safeguarding legislation.</li>
<li>Assessment Skills: Proven ability to undertake complex assessments, support planning, safeguarding enquiries, and risk management interventions.</li>
<li>Mental Health Experience: Experience supporting adults with complex mental health needs within community or specialist mental health services.</li>
<li>Multi-Agency Working: Experience working collaboratively with health services, voluntary organisations, police, and wider partner agencies.</li>
<li>Communication Skills: Excellent communication, negotiation, report-writing, and partnership-working skills.</li>
<li>Professional Practice: Commitment to strengths-based, person-centred practice and continuous professional development.</li>
