Social Worker / Experienced Worker \- Taf Ely Community Mental Health Team. 1 permanent post. Full\-time.

Grade 11 – Entry Social Worker grade and registration with Social Care Wales

Grade 12 – Experienced Social Worker grade \~ minimum of 3 years post qualifying experience and registration with Social Care Wales. Rhondda Cynon Taf Council is pleased to invite applications for a Social Worker/Experienced Social Worker position within the Taf Ely Community Mental Health Team, based at Dewi Sant Health Park, Albert Road, Pontypridd CF37 1LB. The posts will be focused on working with individuals with mental health needs. The team consists of social work team manager, principal social workers, social workers (including AMHPs), community psychiatric nurses (CPN), nurse team lead, psychiatrists, psychologists, and an occupational therapist.Possession of a recognised professional qualification i.e. degree in social work, diploma in social work or CQSW is essential. Applicants must also be registered with Social Care Wales.

The post holder will be required to work as part of a team and understand the strengths and challenges of multi\-disciplinary working and be able to deliver an effective and efficient service to the public. They will be required to undertake assessments of individuals' needs and those of their carers; co\-produce and implement care and treatment plans where necessary and to act as a care co\-ordinator. They will need to work in accordance with key legislative requirements such as the Mental Health Measures Wales (2010\), The Mental Health Act (1983\) and the Mental Capacity Act (2005\). The candidate will also need to have an understanding of the principles of the Social Services and Well\-being (Wales) Act (2014\).

The role is challenging and the successful candidate will need to demonstrate an understanding and commitment to a recovery\-based approach to the delivery of social care services.

All our practitioners have the chance to influence the development of our work and are supported by a strong, experienced management team both at strategic and operational levels.

We recognise that social work is professionally and personally challenging and demands considerable levels of skill, commitment, and enthusiasm. We offer a dedicated in\-house Learning and Development Centre which actively supports practitioners at each level to maintain their skills and Continuous Professional Development.

Those starting a social work career will also be supported to attend our First Year in Practice peer support programme which aims to bridge the gap between qualifying and consolidating practice.

Regular professional supervision and support will be provided. There will be a wide range of opportunities for professional development e.g. CPEL Post Qualifying awards, or The Approved Mental Health Professional qualification. Additional enhanced payment will be given to candidates with the Approved Mental Health Professionals qualification who undertake the role within the position.
