Social Worker Children in Care Court Team

About the Role

Northampton Children's Trust is currently seeking experienced Social Worker to join their Children in Care Teams, with a specific focus on court work.

This is a fantastic opportunity to manage a varied caseload and play a key role in progressing cases through court proceedings while ensuring the best outcomes for children and young people.

These positions sit within Children in Care teams, with a dedicated court function, requiring strong report writing skills and confidence working within legal frameworks. The role offers a hybrid working model, with flexibility depending on service needs.

Location: One Angel Square, Northampton
Rate: £38 per hour
Working Pattern: Hybrid (dependent on court hearings, CIC reviews, and visits)

Key Responsibilities

• Managing a caseload involving ongoing court proceedings


• Completing high-quality assessments, court reports, and statements


• Undertaking all statutory responsibilities as a case-holding social worker


• Attending court hearings and representing the service as required


• Carrying out statutory visits and participating in Children in Care reviews

Requirements

• Qualified Social Worker with relevant registration


• Experience managing court proceedings within Children's Services


• Strong assessment and report writing skills


• Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

This role is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 (Exceptions) Order 1975. A DBS check may be applicable for this role, applicants are required to declare any cautions and convictions that are not protected under current filtering rules.
