Overview
We are looking for a creative, organised and proactive Social Media \& Marketing Assistant to join our small, friendly team at Boujon Bakery. This is an exciting opportunity to take ownership and elevate our online presence and help tell the Boujon story across every channel. You will plan and create scroll\-stopping content, grow our audience and drive bookings for our hand\-iced biscuits, cakes and biscuit decorating classes.

The ideal candidate is always up to date with the latest social media trends, has a strong eye for branding and detail and loves turning everyday bakery moments into beautiful, engaging content. This is a part\-time role of 2 days per week, based on\-site at our bakery on Gloucester Road, Bristol.

Duties

  • Plan, create and schedule content across Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and LinkedIn

  • Shoot and edit photos, videos and reels that showcase our products, classes and behind\-the\-scenes

  • Write, design and send regular newsletters and marketing emails

  • Update and edit our website imagery where needed, keeping products, classes and content fresh

  • Grow our following, engagement, bookings and online sales across all platforms

  • Respond to comments, messages and social media enquiries in a warm, on\-brand voice

  • Support with promotions, seasonal campaigns, events and product launches

  • Keep our branding consistent across everything we put out

  • Track what is working using basic analytics and share simple, useful insights

  • Keep an eye on trends, competitors and new ideas to keep Boujon ahead
Experience
  • Social media or marketing experience is essential \- this role is not suited to complete beginners

  • Confident creating content with tools such as Canva and Edits

  • A strong eye for branding, styling, photography and detail

  • Excellent written communication and grammar in English

  • Organised and reliable, with great time management and the ability to hit deadlines

  • Creative, proactive and full of fresh ideas you are keen to run with

  • Comfortable working independently as well as part of a fun, close\-knit small team

  • Experience with email marketing (Mailchimp), website editing (Wix) or basic analytics is desirable but not essential

  • An interest in baking, food or small creative businesses is a lovely bonus
Your Application Task

  • A short reel demonstrating an idea you might bring to the bakery for our social media accounts \- a content series, a campaign, a fun trend, advertising a product, anything that shows how you would help Boujon grow and so we can see your editing style.

  • A carousel made with Canva selling us whatever you have got in your baking cupboard at home right now. Have fun with it and show us your creativity, your eye for branding and your storytelling. We are far more interested in your ideas and personality than a perfectly stocked cupboard!
