The Role: Social Media Manager

This is a hands\-on Social Media Manager role responsible for leading both organic and paid social activity across the Barworks estate.

Reporting into the Marketing Manager, you will own day\-to\-day social planning, content creation, publishing and performance across multiple venues. You will bring our spaces to life through compelling food, drink, people, vendor, event and atmosphere\-led content, ensuring social channels reflect the energy of each venue while supporting bookings, events, footfall and brand awareness.

You’ll spend time in venues, capturing real moments as they happen, from a perfectly timed service to a full room at peak energy. You’ll know how to translate that into content that feels immediate, relevant and worth engaging with.

Alongside organic social, you will plan, launch and optimise paid social campaigns across platforms such as Meta, using audience insight, creative testing and performance data to improve outcomes over time. You should be comfortable moving between creative thinking and campaign execution, understanding both what makes content work and how to scale it.

This role suits someone with strong hospitality and food and beverage experience, a sharp creative instinct and a clear understanding of how social media translates into real\-world behaviour. You should know what makes people stop, engage and visit, and be confident balancing brand, content and commercial priorities.

You’ll be expected to think creatively, act commercially and continuously improve how social contributes to the business. You should also be comfortable using modern tools, including AI\-enabled platforms, to enhance planning, streamline content production, and generate clearer performance insight.

Alongside social ownership, you will support wider marketing activity where needed, helping ensure campaigns are joined up, consistent and delivered effectively across channels.

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Strategy \& Planning

  • Develop and execute the social media strategy across all Barworks venues owning channel planning across Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn and Facebook

  • Create and manage clear content calendars aligned to marketing campaigns, events and and key trading periods

  • Ensure each venue’s social presence reflects its individual personality while remaining on\-brand.

  • Work closely with the leadership to align social activity with wider marketing priorities
Content Creation \& Capture
  • Lead hands\-on content creation including photography and video across venues.

  • Capture high\-quality food, drink, service and atmosphere content in live environments.

  • Write high performing captions and copy aligned to brand tone and audience

  • Manage content libraries and ensure assets are organised and reusable

  • Work with venue teams to identify moments worth capturing and sharing.

  • Edit and prepare content for platform\-specific formats (Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn etc.).

  • Maintain a consistent creative standard across all channels

  • Brief and coordinate freelance creators where required
Publishing, Community \& Brand Voice
  • Own day\-to\-day publishing across social platforms.

  • Actively manage comments, messages and community engagement.

  • Maintain and evolve Barworks’ social tone of voice.

  • Identify trends and cultural moments that are relevant to the brand and audiences

  • Escalate customer or reputational issues where needed
Paid Social \& Performance
  • Plan, build and manage paid social campaigns across Meta and relevant platforms in collaboration with Marketing management

  • Support campaign objectives including awareness, engagement, traffic and event promotion

  • Build and refine audience targeting including local, interest\-based and retargeting audiences

  • Manage approved campaign budgets in line with agreed priorities

  • Test creative, copy, formats and audiences to improve performance

  • Monitor campaign performance and optimise accordingly

  • Support tracking and measurement setup where required
Insight, Tools \& Continuous Improvement
  • Track organic and paid performance across all channels

  • Monitor key metrics including reach, engagement, CTR, cost per result and campaign outcomes

  • Produce clear, actionable reporting on a weekly and campaign basis

  • Identify opportunities to improve content, targeting and performance through smart use of tools, including AI\-enabled platforms where appropriate.

  • Build a test\-and\-learn approach across social activity

  • Share learnings, trends and recommendations with the Marketing management.
Marketing Support
  • Support wider marketing campaigns and venue launches

  • Assist with event promotion and key calendar moments

  • Contribute to cross\-channel planning with email, website and events

  • Support light copywriting and campaign coordination where needed
Collaboration \& Delivery
  • Work closely with venue teams to capture content and align priorities

  • Support events and launches with real\-time and planned social coverage.

  • Ensure content is captured and delivered in a way that supports operational realities.

  • Maintain organised content libraries and workflows.

  • Maintain clear workflows for approvals and delivery

  • Use tools confidently including scheduling, analytics, AI and ad platforms
About You
  • Proven experience of at least 2 years managing social media for hospitality, food \& beverage or lifestyle brands.

  • Strong hands\-on content creation skills, particularly photography and video.

  • Deep understanding of what performs well in hospitality social content.

  • Hands\-on experience with paid social campaigns, particularly Meta, LinkedIn and TikTok and good understanding of audience targeting, campaign setup and optimisation

  • Organised, proactive and comfortable managing multiple venues and priorities.

  • Commercially aware with a focus on driving real\-world results with both creative and performance metrics

  • Naturally curious, trend\-aware and improvement\-focused.

  • Strong communicator and confident working closely with marketing, operations and senior stakeholders

Pay: £40,000\.00\-£45,000\.00 per year
