As a Social Media Content Creator, you'll help to accelerate audience growth, influence and connection with people practitioners, organisations and CIPD members across our social media channels – including LinkedIn (412,000 followers), Instagram and TikTok.

Working across a wide range of HR audiences, from generalists and specialists to senior decision\-makers, you'll translate the CIPD's expertise and insight into engaging, platform\-native content, including short\-form video and on\-camera formats. You'll adapt messaging and content to make complex workforce topics relevant and compelling for different audiences, while actively building engagement by recognising career milestones and achievements, and fostering connection with practitioners and organisations. You'll also test new, scalable content approaches, respond to user\-generated content, and contribute to the CIPD's member and customer satisfaction ambitions – helping raise awareness of our resources, thought leadership and membership benefits.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Creating audience\-first content by translating the CIPD's expertise and research into accessible, platform\-native content such as short\-form video, reels and TikTok\-style content, carousel explainers and quick\-hit insights

  • Working closely with internal subject matter experts to make complex workforce topics relevant and compelling for HR practitioners and organisational decision\-makers

  • Presenting on camera \- planning, filming and editing short\-form video content. Presenting on topics like professional development, membership benefits, event coverage and broader people\-profession insights.

  • Engaging with people professionals on LinkedIn \- celebrating milestones like membership upgrades, event attendance and career progression

  • Spotting and amplifying member stories across the CIPD channels

  • Using data to sharpen content by tracking social trends and audience behaviour to keep content relevant

  • Using analytics to optimise reach and performance, and test new formats and approaches

  • Collaborating across teams, partnering with the Social Media Manager and the Social Media Content Creator (who focuses on students and early careers audience) to deliver the wider social strategy

  • Working with marketing, content, membership and policy teams on campaigns for practitioner and organisational audiences.
What you’ll need to be successful
  • Experience of managing live social channels

  • Evidence of growth and or impact on those channels

  • Experience of content/social media campaign planning

  • Experience creating engaging social media content

  • Strong understanding of short\-form video and platform\-native content formats

  • Confidence presenting and communicating clearly on camera

  • Ability to translate complex or professional topics into clear, engaging content

  • Ability to interpret metrics and use insights to iterate quickly, not just to report

  • Algorithm awareness

  • Trend spotting and trialling/testing new ideas

  • Translating brand voice into social\-first content

  • Experience creating content for career\-focused or professional audiences

  • In\-app video editing skills

  • Experience creating content for platforms such as LinkedIn and TikTok

  • Interest in workplace trends, HR or professional development
