Are you a creative digital communicator who knows how to turn stories, insight and content into engagement?
The British School in the Netherlands is seeking a Social Media and Digital Content Specialist to help shape how one of Europe’s most established British international schools shows up online and in the wider community. This is a mid\-level role for someone who demonstrates the ability to create compelling content, understand audiences, use digital tools confidently and connect social media with wider communications, admissions and engagement priorities.
Established in 1931, the BSN is one of the oldest not\-for\-profit international schools in the Netherlands. Across four campuses in and around The Hague, we provide education for learners aged 3 to 18, representing nearly 90 nationalities. We combine the strengths of British education with a truly international experience, helping learners find their place to grow.
The Role: What You’ll Do

Reporting to the Director of Engagement and External Relations, you will own the day\-to\-day rhythm of our social media channels. You will balance planned strategic campaigns with the fast\-paced, live energy of school life.
- Own the Channels: Plan, create, and publish high\-impact content across Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
- Produce Multimedia: Craft compelling copy, eye\-catching visuals, and short\-form video that drives website traffic, admissions inquiries, and event sign\-ups.
- Innovate with Tech: Use AI, SEO, and advanced analytics responsibly to keep the BSN ahead of digital communication trends.
- Collaborate and Connect: Travel between our campuses to hunt down and shape inspiring stories from students, teachers, and alumni.
- Protect the Brand: Ensure all content aligns with our brand voice, GDPR, privacy laws, and strict safeguarding standards.

You are curious, proactive, and ready to bring fresh ideas to a supportive, expert marketing and admissions team.
Your Toolkit:
- Experience: Proven track record in social media management, content creation, or digital marketing.
- Creative Skills: Strong writing adaptability and confidence producing short\-form mobile video.
- Technical Savvy: Experience with scheduling and analytics tools. Familiarity with Canva or Adobe Creative Cloud is highly valued (Photoshop/InDesign is a huge plus).
- Strategic Mindset: An understanding of how social media feeds into a larger ecosystem (websites, SEO, search/AI discovery, and the customer journey).
- Power Skills: Excellent project management skills, adaptability, and the mature judgment required when handling student data and safeguarding.
What we offer:
- Contract: The initial contract will be for one year.
- Compensation: €3411,57 \- €4251,42 gross per month, depending on experience \+ 9% holiday allowance.
