Social Care Worker

Role Overview

As a Social Care Worker with VHO, you will play a key role in supporting service users through daily living, emotional development, education, and community integration. You will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to create a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment.

• Key Responsibilities


• Provide high‑quality care and support in line with organizational policies and national standards.


• Build positive, trusting relationships with service users through consistency, empathy, and professional boundaries.


• Implement individualized care plans and contribute to ongoing assessments.


• Support service users with life skills, education, emotional regulation, and community participation.


• Maintain accurate records, reports, and documentation.


• Work collaboratively with colleagues, management, families, and external agencies.


• Respond effectively to challenging behaviour using trauma‑informed and restorative approaches.


• Promote safeguarding, wellbeing, and the rights of every individual in your care.

Qualifications \& Requirements

• Applicants must hold a recognised qualification in Social Care or a related field, also Have a CORU REGISTRATION OR WORKING TOWARDS IT

Other are:

• BA (Ord) in Social Care Practice (Level 7\)


• National Diploma in Childcare (HETAC)


• National Diploma in Applied Social Care Studies (HETAC)


• Diploma in Social Care (HETAC)


• BA (Hons) Psychology


• Youth \& Community Work qualification


• Degree in Social Science


• Or an equivalent qualification as recognised under Irish national standards

Additional requirements:

• Full clean driving licence (desirable)


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills


• Ability to work shifts, including evenings and weekends


• Commitment to continuous professional development


• Experience in residential care, disability services, youth work, or family support is an advantage.

Job Type: Full\-time

Pay: €19\.00\-€20\.00 per hour
