Your new company
A leading principal contractor delivering major infrastructure works across North Wales, working directly on National Grid frameworks. With a strong pipeline of energy and civils projects, they are now seeking additional freelance support to deliver a new 132kV substation control building in Penrhos, Holyhead.
Your new role
A freelance Site Manager overseeing the construction of a new two-storey steel-frame control building forming part of a wider 132kV substation and cable circuit installation. You'll manage daily site operations, coordinate trades, ensure quality and compliance, and work closely with the M&E Supervisor during the building services fit-out. You'll take responsibility for programme, H&S, subcontractor management, and ensuring all works meet National Grid standards.
What you'll need to succeed
- Experience managing steel-frame builds including cladding and external works
- Strong internal fit-out knowledge of blockwork, drylining, ceilings, firestopping and finishes
- Ability to manage multiple trades across structural, architectural and M&E packages
- Understanding of National Grid or similar regulated environments
- Freelance availability with confidence running a building package independently
A long-term freelance assignment (10-12 months), weekly payment, fully covered lodge provided by MSI, and the opportunity to deliver a flagship energy-sector project on the Isle of Anglesey. You'll also receive ongoing support from a local recruiter specialising in freelance white-collar construction roles across North Wales.
