Site Engineer

Location: Argyll & Bute
Contract Duration: 21/09/2026 to 19/09/2027.
Working Hours: 9 hours per day, 45 hours per week.
Rate: Up to £500 per day Umbrella inside IR35.
About the Role:
In this position, you will be instrumental in driving technical excellence on-site. Your key accountabilities will include:
- Supporting the senior project team in the overall implementation of the engineering strategy and framework for the designated project.
- Managing materials, plant and labour within the allocated budget and resources, ensuring their safe, effective and efficient delivery of service on the project.
- Ensuring that the engineering is efficiently managed so that it is fit for purpose from conception right through installation and maintenance.
- Providing coaching and motivation to the project team, to deliver high performance on the project and create a culture of continuous improvement.
- Ensuring all systems, design information, procedures and quality systems are effectively communicated.
- Supporting the project delivery teams, verifying the work of others, providing technical support.
- A UK civils engineering back ground.
- Previous engineering experience and a subject matter expert in the discipline of engineering.
- A valid CSCS card is required.
- An SSSTS certification and a Drivers license.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills are required, coupled with an ability to form effective relationships with partners and delivery team members under time pressure.
- A degree in a relevant engineering discipline and a relevant professional qualification, such as MICE or MIStructE, or having an ONC/HNC is desirable.
