Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Site Engineer to join our groundworks and construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for setting out, surveying, quality control, and ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately, and in line with project specifications and programme requirements.
The role involves working closely with site managers, subcontractors, and clients on a range of residential, commercial, and infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out setting out for foundations, drainage, roads, kerbs, paving, and external works.
- Interpret construction drawings, specifications, and site plans.
- Ensure all works are completed in accordance with design and technical standards.
- Conduct site surveys and maintain accurate records of levels and measurements.
- Liaise with project managers, clients, subcontractors, and design teams.
- Monitor site progress and report on engineering and technical matters.
- Ensure health \& safety regulations and company procedures are followed at all times.
- Assist with quality assurance inspections and snagging works.
- Coordinate materials, plant, and labour requirements with the site team.
- Produce as\-built drawings and site documentation.
- Identify and resolve technical issues on site efficiently.
- Support project delivery to programme deadlines and budget targets.
RequirementsEssential
- Previous experience in groundworks, civil engineering, or construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of drainage, foundations, roads, and infrastructure works.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Experience using surveying equipment including GPS and total stations.
- Good understanding of health \& safety regulations.
- Full UK driving licence.
- Strong communication and organisational skills.
