BYD is expanding its operations in France to support a growing portfolio of New Electric Vehicle Passenger car and LCVs projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1\. Site Identification \& Pipeline Development
- Leads the identification, evaluation, and securing of optimal locations for Flash Charging deployment, building a high‑quality site pipeline aligned with network priorities and CPO partnership frameworks.
- Performs structured early‑stage feasibility assessments covering access, spatial constraints, grid proximity, permitting complexity, and long‑term scalability.
- Coordinates cross‑functional screening with Deployment, Energy, Product, and CPO technical teams to eliminate non‑viable opportunities early and accelerate throughput.
2\. Cooperation with CPOs \& Strategic Partners
- Acts as the operational point of contact for CPOs in all site‑related activities, ensuring seamless translation of partnership agreements into executable projects.
- Works closely with regional account management and partnership teams to convert framework deals into concrete, construction‑ready sites.
- Ensures all CPO‑driven acquisitions meet BYD’s technical, commercial, and long‑term network requirements.
3\. Local Stakeholder Management
- Builds and maintains trusted relationships with landlords, developers, utilities, and local authorities to facilitate negotiations, permitting, and long‑term cooperation.
- Represents BYD’s network vision and strategic ambitions in joint BYD–CPO engagements and discussions with public bodies.
- Secures a smooth handover from acquisition to deployment by proactively removing contractual and operational blockers.
4\. Commercial Coordination \& Deal Progression
- Leads local commercial discussions within predefined pricing and contractual guardrails, including those involving CPO partners.
- Prepares site‑specific proposals, commercial summaries, and internal approval packages, ensuring alignment with validated frameworks before contract execution.
- Drives disciplined deal progression to maintain momentum and portfolio quality.
5\. Permitting \& Pre‑Deployment Readiness
- Coordinates permitting pathways and local approvals with authorities, consultants, and CPOs where applicable.
- Ensures each site is contractually secured and operationally ready for handover to the Deployment team.
- Owns site readiness up to Notice‑to‑Proceed, guaranteeing predictable, construction‑ready outputs that support reliable network expansion.
Skills, Qualifications, and Experience Required:
- 5\+ years of experience in site acquisition, real estate development, or infrastructure rollout, ideally within the EV charging ecosystem or adjacent mobility/energy sectors.
- Direct, hands‑on experience in the EV charging industry is essential, with strong preference for candidates coming from a major Charge Point Operator (CPO) or a large‑scale infrastructure developer.
- Proven track record of engaging and negotiating with landowners, municipalities, utilities, and CPOs, with the ability to navigate multi‑stakeholder environments and accelerate decision cycles.
- Solid understanding of permitting pathways, regulatory frameworks, and local approval processes, with demonstrated ability to de‑risk projects through early identification of constraints.
- Comfortable operating within standardized commercial and contractual frameworks, including escalation mechanisms, internal approval flows, and cross‑functional governance.
- Ability to work autonomously while coordinating within a matrix organization, managing multiple priorities and maintaining disciplined pipeline progression.
- Fluency in English and relevant local language(s) to effectively engage with partners, authorities, and internal teams.
- Willingness to travel across the assigned country or regional cluster to support site identification, stakeholder engagement, and pre‑deployment readiness.
