Shop Assistant for Flapjackery Stow on Wold Shop
Job Summary
Flapjackery is looking for a friendly, reliable and well\-presented Sales Assistant to join our retail team in our Stow\-on\-the\-Wold shop.
This is a zero\-hours position, with no guaranteed minimum hours. We currently anticipate offering around two days of work per week on average, although hours and working days will vary depending on the needs of the business. Applicants should also be aware that some weekend working will be required and one of the working days may be a Sunday.
The role would suit someone who enjoys working with customers, takes pride in delivering excellent customer service and presentation, and is happy to help keep the shop clean, organised, well\-stocked and welcoming at all times.
Responsibilities
- Serving customers in a polite, friendly and professional manner
- Selling flapjacks, chocolate, fudge and other Flapjackery products
- Learning and understanding the products, including allergen information
- Stocking shelves and keeping displays full and attractive
- Rotating stock correctly
- Helping with merchandising and window displays
- Cash handling and cashing up when required
- Receiving and unpacking deliveries under the guidance of the Shop Manager
- Keeping the shop, kitchen and toilet areas clean and tidy
- Following cleaning and food hygiene standards
- Taking direction from the Shop Manager and/or company directors
- Previous experience in a catering, retail or restaurant environments is advantageous but not mandatory
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in food preparation and handling
- Strong organisational skills
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour
- Ability to work well as part of a team and independently when required
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities during busy periods
Pay: £12\.71 per hour
