Shop Assistant - Flapjackery Wells Shop

Job Summary
Flapjackery is looking for a friendly, reliable and well\-presented Sales Assistant to join our team at our Wells shop.

2 Days per week. Please note that typical working days are a Sunday and Monday.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with customers, takes pride in presentation, and is happy to help keep the shop looking clean, organised and welcoming at all times.

Responsibilities

• Serving customers in a polite, friendly and professional manner


• Selling flapjacks, chocolate, fudge and other Flapjackery products


• Learning and understanding the products, including allergen information


• Stocking shelves and keeping displays full and attractive


• Rotating stock correctly


• Helping with merchandising and window displays


• Cash handling and cashing up when required


• Receiving and unpacking deliveries under the guidance of the Shop Manager


• Keeping the shop, kitchen and toilet areas clean and tidy


• Following cleaning and food hygiene standards


• Taking direction from the Shop Manager and/or company directors

Qualifications

• Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is advantageous but not mandatory


• Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices in food preparation and handling


• Strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask effectively in a fast\-paced setting


• Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanour


• Ability to work well as part of a team and independently when required


• Enthusiasm for culinary arts and customer service excellence


• Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities during busy periods
