Shift Maintenance Electrical Technician

Talent STEM are partnering with an established manufacturing business in Newcastle seeking a Shift Maintenance Electrical Technician to join their engineering team.

This hands-on role involves maintaining and improving production equipment within a 24/7 manufacturing environment, supporting equipment reliability, minimising downtime and contributing to continuous improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on manufacturing equipment


• Diagnose and repair electrical faults on production machinery


• Support Siemens PLC fault finding and diagnostics


• Work with AC/DC drives and industrial control systems


• Assist with equipment installations and commissioning


• Maintain records using the CMMS system


• Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives


• Ensure compliance with health and safety procedures including LOTO and permit-to-work systems

Requirements

• Completed Electrical Engineering apprenticeship or equivalent


• HNC in Electrical Engineering or related discipline


• Experience fault finding on Siemens PLC systems


• Strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems and schematics


• Experience within manufacturing, production or process environments


• Knowledge of drives, Profibus or Profinet would be advantageous


• Strong communication and teamwork skills
