This role is part of HMRC Valuation Office, formerly known as the Valuation Office Agency (VOA). We have recently integrated into HMRC. As we continue the transition to our updated HMRC branding, you may still see some VOA logos or references in our advertisements for a temporary period.

Job description

The Service Readiness Analyst is responsible for planning, implementing and coordinating the safe delivery and release of IT and digital products into live service. The role ensures that services transition effectively through development, test and production environments, meeting agreed quality, security and operational standards.

Working closely with project teams, suppliers, external partners and business users, the postholder will coordinate release and deployment activities, manage readiness checkpoints, and support stable go live and early life support.### Person specification

The postholder will:

  • Maintain and actively manage the release schedule and release calendar, ensuring visibility of planned deliverables.

  • Plan, coordinate and communicate release activities, commitments and changes to stakeholders.

  • Conduct Release Readiness Reviews, Milestone Reviews and Business Go / No Go assessments.

  • Ensure that all training, knowledge transfer and operational readiness activities required for release are completed.

  • Plan and communicate Early Life Support approaches, ensuring stakeholders understand post deployment responsibilities and monitoring live performance to confirm that rollback is not required.

  • Lead and coordinate go live activities, including the execution of deployment plans and checklists.

  • Participate in Change Advisory Board (CAB) meetings to confirm release scope, risks and mitigations.

  • Influence and support the implementation of ITIL aligned Transition, Release and Configuration Management policies and standards.

  • Provide guidance and advice on release and service transition practices across teams.
Essential Criteria

You must demonstrate experience in:

  • Experience of working across the software delivery lifecycle, including development, testing and live service.

  • Proven ability to plan, coordinate and manage multiple activities to deadlines and agreed standards.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and influence others.

  • Ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams and with external suppliers.

  • Organised, proactive and able to manage competing priorities.

  • Holds ITIL V4 foundation qualification.
Desirable Criteria
  • Experience of coordinating change, release or service transition activities.

  • Experience supporting live service deployments in a complex IT environment.

Sift
