Job Overview:

• Repair, maintain, and service a range of machinery and technical equipment, ensuring reliable and efficient operation.


• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and technical problems both on\-site and remotely, identifying faults and implementing effective repairs to minimise customer downtime.


• Travel to customers throughout the designated service area to carry out installations, repairs, maintenance, commissioning, inspections, and technical support.


• Demonstrate, install, and commission machinery and equipment in accordance with manufacturer specifications, ensuring customers understand correct operation and safe working practices.


• Provide technical guidance and support to customers, including training on machinery operation, maintenance requirements, and best practices.


• Carry out routine inspections and preventative maintenance to identify potential faults, improve equipment reliability, and extend machinery lifespan.


• Accurately record all service, maintenance, installation, and repair work, including fault findings, work completed, parts used, and recommendations, in service reports and maintenance records.


• Work closely with engineering, technical support, and other cross\-functional teams to resolve complex technical issues efficiently and provide effective customer solutions.


• Maintain current knowledge of machinery, product features, industry standards, and emerging technologies to deliver high\-quality and innovative technical solutions.

• Proven experience as a Service Engineer, Agricultural Engineer, or similar technical role, preferably within agricultural machinery, land\-based engineering, manufacturing, automation, HGV, plant, construction, or related industries.


• Hold a Level 3 qualification in Land Based Engineering or an equivalent qualification in HGV, Plant, Construction, Agricultural Engineering, or a related technical discipline.


• Strong practical knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and/or electronic systems, with the ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, manuals, and equipment specifications.


• Experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, repairing, installing, commissioning, and maintaining machinery and technical systems, with a proactive and methodical approach to resolving faults and minimising customer downtime.


• Excellent problem\-solving skills and the ability to remain calm and effective when working under pressure, including in challenging customer environments and during busy seasonal periods.


• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of customers, colleagues, and other stakeholders and explain technical information clearly.


• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing priorities effectively while maintaining a high standard of customer service and technical workmanship.


• Willingness to undertake continued professional development, including manufacturer\-specific training, to maintain and further develop technical knowledge and keep skills up to date.


• Experience working with agricultural machinery is highly desirable, with a willingness to work overtime and provide additional support during peak farming seasons when required.


• Willingness and flexibility to travel locally and internationally as required for customer support, machinery installations, commissioning, maintenance, and repairs.


• A positive appreciation and understanding of the countryside and the unique operating demands, time pressures, and seasonal requirements of the agricultural and farming environment.
