Service Engineer

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a range of premier farm equipment from JCB Agriculture, Kuhn to name a few. The successful applicant would be expected to but not limited to the following:

• Service and maintain JCB and other agricultural machinery to the manufacturers specifications and to ensure machine reliability and safety.


• Have a keen eye for detail, reporting machine defects and upselling the services provided by the company wherever possible.


• Successfully diagnose and rectify electrical, hydraulic, powertrain and various other faults prior to initiating and completing a repair.


• Operate diagnostic software via a laptop computer when required (training will be given).


• Complete a detailed report of work completed along with supporting photographs and documentation of all worked times.


• To have a good understanding of GPS, Telematics, and machine controllers.


• Be able to carry out any welding and fabrication works when needed would be an advantage.


• Consult with supplier’s service departments over operational matters.


• Attend factory training days when available.


• Working hours Monday – Friday, additional hours and weekend work as required due to seasonal demands.

Ideal Experience:

• Must have a full UK driving licence.


• Knowledge and experience of a variety of machinery ideally in the agricultural, commercial vehicle or construction industry. Ideally, have a relevant qualification within the field of Land Based Engineering


• Ability to interact with customers and develop/build a relationship that ultimately delivers a positively satisfying experience.


• Time Management – Ability to set timescales to own tasks to enable completion of duties and to ensure all tasks are carried out within a timely manner whilst not compromising safety.


• Enjoy working in a busy atmosphere and can cope under pressure during busy periods.


• The ability to communicate with customers and other work colleagues with a flexible approach to completing the assigned tasks.


• Capable of working on own initiative as well as part of a team.


• Computer literate.


• Own the tools to carry out the job – diagnostic and special tolls will be provided.

This position attracts an excellent package including:

• A competitive salary up to £42,000\.00 OTE, depending on experience, paid hourly.
