This organisation manages a diverse portfolio of residential and commercial properties across the UK and has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality financial and property management services.

The Role
As a Service Charge Accountant, you will support the delivery of accurate and timely financial reporting across multiple service charge accounts. You will play a key role in ensuring financial data is maintained correctly, deadlines are met, and stakeholders are supported with clear and professional communication.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Reporting & Accounting
- Assist with the preparation of monthly bank reconciliations across service charge accounts
- Support the production of year-end service charge accounts for external review
- Facilitate the release of finalised accounts once approved by external accountants
- Work with and review balance sheets, including year-end processes
- Issue service charge budgets once agreed and approved
- Maintain accurate financial and operational records across internal systems
- Ensure all data is up to date, consistent, and accessible for reporting purposes
- Respond to service charge-related queries from leaseholders and internal stakeholders
- Provide clear and timely communication regarding account information
- Support the resolution of account enquiries as they arise
- Assist the wider team with ad hoc accounting and administrative tasks
- Contribute to maintaining efficient processes and workflows across the finance function
We are looking for candidates who can demonstrate:
- Previous experience approximately 3+ years
- working with service charge accounts within property management
- Strong attention to detail and a methodical approach to financial work
- A solid understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with confidence using accounting systems (training provided where needed)
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- A collaborative mindset, with the confidence to work both independently and as part of a team
