About the Role
Are you an experienced residential childcare professional looking to take the next step in your career?
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Senior Children's Support Worker to join our therapeutic residential children's home in Mickleover. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your leadership skills while making a lasting difference in the lives of children and young people.
Our 4\-bed home supports children aged 6–18 with social, emotional, and behavioural needs. Using a therapeutic, PACE\-informed approach, we provide a safe, nurturing environment where young people can thrive, build resilience, and achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high\-quality, therapeutic care and support to children and young people.
- Lead shifts and support the effective day\-to\-day running of the home.
- Guide, mentor, and support the wider staff team.
- Build positive and trusting relationships with children, acting as a consistent role model.
- Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and independence.
- Contribute to care planning, safeguarding, and the achievement of positive outcomes.
- Ensure high standards of care are maintained at all times.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Experience working within a children's residential care setting.
- A confident, resilient, and proactive approach.
- Strong communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
- A commitment to child\-centred, therapeutic care and safeguarding.
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- A full UK driving licence (preferred).
