Senior Software Engineer

At Sunweb Group, we’re building and evolving the core systems behind millions of holidays each year. As a Senior Software Engineer, you contribute directly to how our platform is designed, scaled, and improved.

You’ll work in a small, autonomous Agile team where ownership, pragmatism, and quality go hand in hand. This role goes beyond coding — you influence architecture, improve engineering practices, and help the department grow.

Location: Rotterdam / Girona Sunweb Group office (Hybrid)

Start date: August 2026

Availability: Fulltime

What you’ll do

• Design and build scalable, cloud\-native applications on Azure


• Own technical decisions and contribute to architecture


• Improve and modernize existing (legacy) systems


• Drive engineering practices like CI/CD, testing, and clean architecture


• Identify and reduce technical debt


• Collaborate with product and stakeholders to deliver real impact


• Mentor engineers and contribute to team growth


• Help define team standards and technical direction

Our tech stack

C\#, .NET, Azure, SQL, React, GitHub, GitHub Copilot, Visual Studio / VS Code

We actively leverage AI\-powered tools such as GitHub Copilot to improve productivity and code quality.

What you bring

• 5\+ years of experience with C\# and .NET


• Experience building cloud\-native applications on Azure


• Strong knowledge of SQL and data modeling


• Solid understanding of system design and clean architecture


• Experience with CI/CD, automated testing, and DevOps practices


• Experience with legacy systems and modernization


• Ability to balance speed and quality pragmatically


• Ownership mindset and drive to improve systems and processes


• Strong stakeholder communication skills


• Experience mentoring others and influencing technical direction

What we offer

For a Dutch contract (based in our Rotterdam office):

• Monthly gross salary between €6300 and €6700 plus 6 ATV days (based on full\-time employment, excluding 8% holiday allowance). *Please note: ATV days do not apply to part\-time contracts.*


• We enjoy the journey so enjoy 25 holidays based on fulltime employment.

For a Spanish contract (based in our Girona office):

• Yearly gross salary between €72\.042,\- and €76\.618,\- (based on full\-time employment)


• We enjoy the journey so enjoy 23 holidays based on fulltime employment.
