The NextGen Security Automation team is looking for a skilled and driven Senior Security Engineer to create autonomous security solutions that protect Amazon’s customers. As a security engineer, you will leverage AI/ML technologies to automate detection, analysis, and remediation across proactive, offensive security at scale. You will work closely with the software development team. Your work will directly enhance Amazon’s security posture by improving detection capabilities, strengthening guardrails, and advancing automated security tools.
Key job responsibilities
- Conduct security research on AI\-powered mechanisms for discovering and protecting customer data and applications at scale effectively and efficiently.
- Ensure our agentic workflows deliver high impact security value.
- Develop automated systems integrated into Amazon’s security infrastructure.
- Research and prototype new security solutions, evaluating design approaches for technical feasibility.
Our days are varied, and our remit is broad. You will scale security agents across Amazon, and you will ensure those agents apply up\-to\-date security expertise to their problems.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

- Experience (non\-internship) in scripting, programming, and security code reviewing in a common programming language
- Experience (non\-internship) in troubleshooting systems issues, analyzing logs, or automating complex tasks using command line tools
- Experience working in identifying security issues and risks, and developing mitigation plans
- Experience (non\-internship) in industry\-based security vulnerabilities identification, attack patterns, and remediation techniques
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team

- Experience applying threat modeling or other risk identification techniques or equivalent
- Experience with security in service\-oriented architectures/microservices and web services
