Senior Respiratory Support Worker

The post holder will work as part of the Community Respiratory Specialist Team in West Essex , which provides ongoing care and monitoring for patients with long‑term respiratory conditions and helps prevent unnecessary hospital admission

A full UK drivers license and access to a car is essential for this role as diving to different localities is required for this role

To be accountable for all aspects of own work and to manage the workload efficiently and effectively with regard to clinical priorities and use of time.

Assist in the assessment, treatment, and ongoing care of patients with respiratory conditions. Key duties include obtaining and documenting a comprehensive medical history and presenting complaint, carrying out basic respiratory assessments within scope of practice, and contributing to the development and delivery of individualised care plans. The role involves supporting patients through the use of evidence\-based therapeutic interventions, monitoring responses to treatment, promoting self\-management where appropriate, and escalating concerns to registered clinicians. Accurate, timely, and professional documentation of assessments, interventions, patient progress, and outcomes in clinical notes is essential to ensure continuity, safety, and quality of care.

The role includes monitoring and supporting patients who attend community clinics, pulmonary rehabilitation programmes and visiting patients in their own homes to undertake assessments—including oxygen assessments—and providing telephone support and advice.

The post holder will require good clinical skills appropriate to the role and will be an excellent communicator. Experience in an acute hospital setting, particularly with respiratory care, would be advantageous.
