Senior Residential Support Worker – Learning Disabilities (LD)

Heanor (DE75\) \| £14\.50–£15\.50 per hour \+ £55 per sleep \| LD 4‑Bed Children’s Home (Aged 8–17\) 2 on, 4 off shift pattern

We’re now recruiting a Senior Residential Support Worker to join the team — someone confident, consistent, and ready to support both staff and young people within a therapeutic LD environment.

About the Role

As a Senior RSW, you’ll play a key role in supporting children aged 8–17 with learning disabilities, additional needs, and behaviours that challenge. You’ll help lead the team, model best practice, and ensure the home remains safe, structured, and child‑centred.

You’ll work closely with the Registered Manager and Deputy Manager to maintain high standards, support staff development, and contribute to positive outcomes for young people.

What You’ll Be Doing

✔ Supporting young people with routines, life skills, and independence

✔ Providing emotional and practical support

✔ Leading shifts and supporting the care team

✔ Undertaking direct work with young people where appropriate

✔ Maintaining accurate records, safeguarding standards, and professional documentation

✔ Offering guidance, supervision, and support to staff

✔ Participating in sleep‑ins (£55 per sleep) ✔ Working collaboratively with external professionals to achieve the best outcomes

This is a permanent Senior Support Worker position.

What We’re Looking For

✔ Minimum 1 year experience as an RSW (essential)

✔ NVQ Level 3/4 Residential Childcare (highly desirable)

✔ Driver with access to your own vehicle (essential)

✔ Calm, patient, resilient approach

✔ Strong safeguarding awareness

✔ Ability to lead shifts and support staff confidently

✔ Commitment to therapeutic, child‑centred practice
