We need an experienced residential worker who can give children and young people consistent, high\-quality care and therapeutic support. The home is quiet and set in its own grounds. The shift pattern is designed to give you real time off as well as time on the floor.
This is hands\-on residential work: relationships, routines, boundaries, and coordinated support with social workers, therapists and schools. It is demanding. It is also the kind of role where good practice actually changes a child’s day\-to\-day life.
What you will do
- Follow and help deliver individual care and support plans, focused on emotional, social and developmental needs
- Support children through planned therapeutic activities and agreed interventions (not as a substitute for clinical therapy unless that is part of the agreed model)
- Keep the home safe and predictable: clear boundaries, respectful communication, and support towards independence
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team so care is joined up
- Take part in daily life in the home: meals, activities, personal care and routines
- Keep accurate records of progress, incidents and care on the home’s IT systems
- Transport children to appointments or activities when required, driving safely
