Due to our continued growth and expansion, we are now seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join our team in commercial management completing contractors QS based tasks.

The role will allow the individual to have complete autonomy in your day to day works whilst having the full support from hierarchy.

The Role :

The quantity surveyor will be from a contractors background and become an integral part of the team working closely with the Managing Director.

Based at our office in Tipton, West Midlands the role will see you working on Pre and Post construction Quantity Surveying activities.

We are looking for a self\-motivated individual who can work as part of an existing team with a genuine passion for a family orientated working environment whilst being an excellent team player also holding the ability to work independently on your own initiative.

The Role:

• Support the estimating team, contractors take offs, preparing / submitting quotations


• General contract support JCT / to minor agreements preparing payment schedules


• Accurately price, negotiate and agree on Contractual Variations, preparing, negotiating variations and final accounts


• Preparing cash flow forecasts / maintaining positive monthly cashflow whilst producing monthly valuations


• Reviewing monthly subcontractor applications, ensuring accuracy of measures for completed works


• Supporting on site Managers preparing FA's on completion of works on a re\-measured survey contract


• Supporting the directors with Bid writing through platforms like Constructionline

About the successful applicant :

• The ideal candidate will be educated to degree level or equivalent in Quantity Surveying


• The ability to demonstrate a good understanding of NATFED rates, general SPONS, or equivalent rates, able to build up own specialist rates


• Being a positive and self\-motivated individual, the successful candidate will have a real ‘hands on’ approach and excellent interpersonal skills


• Some Previous experience of Voids/external groundwork schemes is preferable


• Previous experience of working with Schedules of rates / commodity codes

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates and budgets for construction projects from inception through completion.


• Monitor project costs continuously, identifying variances early and implementing corrective actions to maintain financial targets.


• Manage procurement processes, including tendering, contract negotiations, and supplier evaluations to secure competitive pricing.


• Oversee contractual obligations, change orders, and claims to ensure compliance and minimize financial risks.


• Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and clients to provide accurate financial forecasts and reporting.


• Conduct regular site visits to assess progress against budget estimates and resolve any cost\-related issues promptly.


• Maintain comprehensive records of all financial transactions, contracts, and correspondence related to project costs.

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor with a strong background in small to medium scaled projects


• Demonstrated expertise in cost control techniques, budgeting, and financial analysis.


• Excellent knowledge of contractual procedures and legal frameworks within the construction industry.


• Strong negotiation skills with the ability to manage multiple stakeholders effectively.


• Exceptional attention to detail coupled with excellent communication skills.


• Ability to work under pressure while maintaining accuracy and professionalism.

Pay: £40,000\.00\-£60,000\.00 per year
